While the bilinear keyboard changes the visual appearance of both patterns, there are still only 2 finger-patterns that need to be learned to play each scale (or chord) in any key. Thus, from a mathematical point of view, the bilinear keyboard is 6 times easier than the traditional keyboard. However, because the 2 patterns are simply inversions of each other, it is actually many more times easier.
